My husband and I saw the leucistic jay that's been hanging out near
Port Deposit today. It was in trees behind the schoolyard where
it was first sighted. I had it in the binoculars only for a moment before it
flew, but I was able to see the white head, black throat stripe, and
the beautiful light-silver color of its wings. This is a very handsome bird.

When in the shadows, it was very hard to spot, but when it was
perched (briefly)
in the sunshine, it was very obvious.

We spotted the bird at about 3:00. We just parked in the school/church
parking lot facing the schoolyard and trees where the bird has been sighted.
Also present were a male Red-Bellied Woodpecker, a male Downy Woodpecker,
many Juncos, Titmice, Chickadees, and blue Blue Jays.

The bird can be seen from 7 Pleasant View Church Road, Port Deposit.
