This morning I headed over to Anacostia Park in DC to see if the Greater
White-fronted Goose was still around. I found several large flocks of
Canada Geese both north and south of the Pennsylvania Ave bridge but no
White-fronted among them. So I assume that the bird has moved on.
However, I did see a Lesser Black-backed Gull on a sandbar in the river
south of the 11th Street Bridge. At least three Pied-billed Grebes were
present along the length of the park. Finally, a Northern Harrier was
soaring over the Pennsylvania Ave bridge as I was leaving.
