 From Armas Hill:

Yesterday morning, Monday, December 12th, at an apartment complex
southwest of Newark, Delaware, along Elkton Road, a first-year BROWN
PELICAN, with a metal band, was found.
Unfortunately, the young bird flew away moments before Tri-State
Rehabilitation Center personnel arrived to assess the situation and
potentially capture the bird. The bird had been reported by multiple
callers, within minutes of each other. The reports indicated that the
bird had poor wing carriage, and it was thought that it could not
fly. That, as just indicated, was not the case. Nearby developments
and fields were canvassed, but there was no luck re-locating the pelican.
Considering the age of the bird, the time of year and current weather
conditions, it is likely that the bird's physical condition will
deteriorate, and it will become more debilitated.
If anyone either sees the bird, or hears of any sightings, they are
asked to call, as soon as possible, Tri-State at: 302-737-9543. It's
most important if such a call would either relate to seeing the bird
at the time, or that it had just been seen moments before.
