I spotted a solitary American Coot at the Washington
Navy Yard on 29 November near the display ship Barry
(DD 933) and have not seen it since. I suspected that
it might have been sick and died. Well, today (8 Dec)
I finally saw the bird again. Made my day! The bird
seems healthy and active.
