The Long-tailed Duck that appeared at Centennial Park last Sunday
was still present this morning. It was to the east of the boat ramp.
Good looks. Also present, aside from several hundreds (thousands?) of
Canada Geese were:

Great Blue Heron - 1
Ring-necked Duck - 47
Lesser Scaup - 5
Canvasback - 6
Bufflehead - 1
Hooded Merganser - 9
Ruddy Duck - 9
Belted Kingfisher - 1

Brighton Dam, Triadelphia Reservoir had:

Hooded Merganser - 6
Common Merganser - 12

Several Common Mergs were seen flying upstream, so there must be open
water further up, alas, no public access until March. All birds seen
were females. Last week, the most of the 138 I counted were also
female. Where are the boys?
