I won't list all the birds seen on my CBC route for today's Seneca CBC through the polo fields and grounds on the East side of Hughes Road (north of River Road). The highlights were

60 Horned Larks
7 American Pippits
(both in the fields visible from Hughes Road north of the entrance to the polo grounds)

1 Gray Catbird
4 American Black Duck
3 Red-breasted Nuthatch
4 Eastern Towhee
2 Purple Finch
21 Cedar Waxwing
1 Killdeer
6 Field Sparrow

Surprises were the small numbers of White-breasted Nuthatch, Tufted Timouse, and all woodpeckers considering all the habitat back in there.

But it was a beautiful day to be outside.
