The two are not related, just observed today.

First, I found two Red-Breasted Nuthatches foraging with several Titmouse and C-Chickadees in the Nature Center in Cheverly. I thought I heard them earlier this week in my yard, but couldn't make a visual ID.

Also, noted several crow sized nests heavily lined with what I thought at first was down. As I got closer it looked like dryer-vent lint. Further down the trail I found chunks of the same stuff and it turned out to be polyester fiber fill. There were no birds in the nests that I could see, but I'll be watching to see which enterprising species has a new way to line the nest.
