Today around 12:30pm at Lake Artemesia in PG County (Berwyn Heights) my brother and I spotted 1 Female COMMON GOLDENEYE on the Southeast side of the lake. She had the characteristic white breast, gray body, slightly gold colored eye and gently sloped forehead. We believe she was not a mature adult yet because of the lack of a white oval on her face. She was almost entirely alone, aside for some Ruddy Ducks and Coots in the distance. For 15 minutes, she was diving with only ~5 second breaks in-between but she finally stopped and let us get a great look at her in the spotting scope to confirm that she was indeed a COMMON GOLDENEYE.
