Hello
Actually I should say that we saw it too. My friend Steve drove me to those trees above the C&O Canal and after seeing my year's first Ruby-crowned and Golden-crowned Kinglets, Carolina Chickadee and White-breasted Nuthatch, both of us and three other gentlemen who were there when we came, saw the Townsend's Warbler. We all got a very clear look at it and saw the bright yellow face and 'black-eye'. Exactly what's in Mark Hoffman's photos.
Steve's life-list is over 400 but this was a lifer for him and of course it was for me. It was also my 2nd accidental, after seeing the Neotropic Cormorant back in November.
Another good thing that happened today it that we stopped at that lake, what's it called again Steve, and saw it full of Common Mergansers. Another lifer for me.
  Marcus
