Today at the Dundalk campus of CCBC (formerly Dundalk Community College) a
small, stocky raptor was perched atop a leafless tree just inside the entrance.
Luckily there was a parking space right there, where I was able to get great
looks at a handsome, dark male MERLIN from about 50 feet away. Such impressive
little birds.
Earlier in the day, from Rocky Point Park, I was able to scope a distant
PEREGRINE on the lighthouse at Millers Island. And on Sunday the 1st, there was a
male KESTREL at Southwest Area Park in Lansdowne. An amorous pair of Red Foxes
seems to be denning there on the hillside below the tractor trailers.
