Schoolhouse Pond, Upper Marlboro, PG County 8:20-9:15 am

Nothing like the Townsend's Warbler, but the biggest surprise
for me was a winter juvenile EASTERN PHOEBE, in the marshes off to the
right as you look at the Pond with the PG County build at your back.

Otherwise, the pond was clogged with 350 or more Canada Geese (I
can't yet pick out Cacklings), stirred up periodically by a patrolling
immature BALD EAGLE. Also a pair of RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS hanging around.

	Other sightings were fairly predictable:

	MALLARD - 12 or so.
	NORTHERN SHOVELER - 9
	GREAT BLUE HERON
	CEDAR WAXWING - 10
AMERICAN ROBIN - flock of approx 75
	RING-BILLED GULL - 2
	NORTHERN CARDINAL
	MOURNING DOVE - 2
	NORTHERN FLICKER
	CAROLINA WREN - 2
	WHITE-THROATED SPARROW - 5
	YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER - 4
	BELTED KINGFISHER

Good Birding!
