Hi All,

Sorry for the belated announcement. Alphonse meets Gaston...

The Kent County Bird Club will be making a field trip to Eastern Neck island to kick off the year. Given there will also be folks from a concurrent Cecil County Club trip around we will have some other birders to consult on where the good stuff is to be found.
We will meet people at the parking lot of the Dollar General store (the one with the A&P cupola) between Philosopher's Terrace and the Spring St. intersection on MD-213 at 8:00 AM. Warm clothes are recommended as we will spend quite a bit of time afoot.

Eastern Neck NWR is often spectacular in the days before major ice-up with tens of thousands of scaup, hundreds of swans and 16 other waterfowl species likely (not counting bonuses). The island is also a good place to see overwintering landbirds including thrasher, catbird, Hermit Thrush, kinglets, sapsucker, towhee, and Yellow-rumped Warbler.

Good Birding,

Walter Ellison
