Hi --

An early run to Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens where we found Wallace Kornack and John Hubble, but no Bittern -- we did see three Rusty Blackbirds, couple of Sapsuckers and some Field Sparrows. A walk at Kenilworth Park was almost birdless, four Savannah Sparrows about the best. A large flock of Canada Geese was just that, Canada Geese -- no Cacklers or White-front.

Potomac Park was more interesting, primarily bcause of the raptors: two Merlins, two Cooper's Hawks, one Redtail, one Red-shouldered and an adult Bald Eagle -- unfortunately the Peregrine was not seen. Not much on the water although a good number of Greater Black-backed Gulls and a distant raft of Scaup sp. (almost certainly Lesser).

Still, a nice day to be out and about for early January!
