The highlight of a nice morning visit to Hughes Hollow today, Monday, 01/16/06, was seeing two Red-shouldered Hawks displaying noisily, flying around together, and finally mating. No sign of nest-building. They were in the trees on the east side, south end of the main levee between the two impoundments. Otherwise kind of quiet

No water birds.
