You should also report situations such as this to Grace McLaughlin
608-270-2446 (). She handles disease reports for the
Eastern Region (east of the Mississippi River) for the National Wildlife
Disease Lab in Madison WI. I am forwarding your message to you but wanted
others to know what to do for future. This of course is in addition to
reporting to MD DNR which you have already done. Thanks.
Cheers,

[MDOSPREY] Canada Goose Deaths: Riviera Beach
Hello all.
Today, while surverying the Riviera Beach pond area, I came across 5 dead
Canada Geese laying about 10 feet in from the tide line. Another birder
and
I inspected them and they hadn't been shot and didn't appear to be line-
strike victims, as their wings and necks were intact and showed no signs
of
trauma. They had been deceased less than 24 hours, as I didn't note them
yesterday. With no apparant cause of death, we called the DNR and are
still
wondering.
Any ideas?
