I moved from marking life birds in my Sibley guide with a yellow 
hightlighter in 2003 to creating life, state, county, yard lists in 
ebird by 2004.  Used ebird initially then started to wonder what I'd do 
if the site folded or how you take the info with you into the future.  
Late 2004, I purchased Avisys.  Which is satisfactory for my purposes.  
I should revisit the site and see what's new.
