I am posting this on behalf of Jordan Rutter and myself.

Dear MDOspreyers,

As you may know by now, two of the four members of the American Birding Association's Tropicbirds team that will participate in the upcoming Texas Classic are from Maryland. Jim Wilson, Jr. and I will be traveling to Texas this April. (Jim has been chosen to be our captain!) Our other team members include Tom Reed from New Jersey and Oliver Jason from California. 

 Through this event we are raising money for the American Birding Association's youth programs. Though this money does not directly assist Maryland birding, the money is available to Maryland youth birders (Like ourselves!) The money can be applied for as scholarship money and membership subsidizing, among other things. The money raised also helps plan youth birding events, such as the Youth Birder's Conference, workshops/programs, and education events.

You can either pledge to Jim and me directly, or you can make a pledge at http://www.americanbirding.org/yb/tropicbirds/pledge.html. Making the pledge online is easy and the money goes to the same cause, but Jim and I won't get credit for it that way unless you shoot us an email and let us know you made a pledge. If you want to support us directly you have the option of a set donation or amount per bird.
