Ah, yes...I was just telling my students the other day that ducks and
geese are notorious for hybridizing. (Actually, I said "promiscuous"
and they thought that was funny. These are college students, by the
way, so I am not corrupting young children.) I briefly considered a
Greylag hybrid of some sort but ruled it out at the time because the bird
had a rather delicate bill, not the big bulky bill of a domestic goose. I
noticed the large size, too, but wasn't sure what to make of that. So, I
will concede the point and check out that Web site.
It's a nice-looking bird, though!
