I've just looked at the photos of various Greylag x Canada Goose 
hybrids posted on the Cornell Web site - and also the photos posted 
on OSPREY earlier today by Derek Richardson (of the goose at 
Greenbelt Lake).  And in self-defense (!), I just wanted to say that 
when I saw the goose this morning, the white face patch was not 
nearly so obvious as in these pictures.  A matter of the light, I 
suppose.
