Perceptive analysis, Bob, but your taxonomy of birders doesn't address a key
question -- do the different "species" hybridize?

Maybe we should develop a birding equivalent of the Myers-Briggs typology
test, to help people find compatible birding companions. The codes might
include "L-W" (Lister or Watcher), "C-B" (Cameras or Binos), "O-D"
(Obsessive or Dilettante), and "S-G" (Solo or Group birder), among other
possibilities. Just imagine how much aggravation you could avoid by knowing
in advance that your field trip leader is, say, a WCDG, when you're an LBOS.

I offer the usual disclaimer that this is proposed humorously, unless
somebody wants to help me really do it!
