While a discussion of the Records Committee always has the potential for entertainment, this one has gotten way out of hand.  Personal insults, especially of people who are not on this list to defend themselves, are totally unacceptable.

I would have stepped in sooner but I kept hoping that good sense would come to the fore.

We're all here because we're interested in birds, in many different ways, each different from the other.  I think there is room for all of our interests.  If not, then I'll step in sooner and more aggresively.
