When I saw the subject of this posting, I figured it was just another  
example of the IIDSIIDO  syndrome, a widespread birder failing.   (Pronounced 
Id-see-doe, this is the situation where, "If I didn't see it, it  didn't occur").  
 
But my initial impression was wrong.  The article is a very thorough,  
thoughtful, scientifically skeptical piece that deserves widespread  attention.
