Saturday, 2/25, from 8 am to 4 pm, the Centreville Middle School went out
to bird around Cambridge today. It was the best day of birding we've had
this year. Most of us, or I, add 2 species to our life list.
The birds of the day were 4 AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS at Blackwater across
from pool 3 on the wildlife drive. At the same spot we had 1 early TREE
SWALLOW. We also got 1 BARNACLE GOOSE in pool 1 of the wildlife drive, as
well as RING-NECKED DUCKS. Across from pool 1 were 2 COMMON MERGANSERS. On
the Choptank River were 3 REDHEADS mixed in with Canvasbacks, Wigeons, and
others. They were close enough to touch and got great photos. The list
