Hello All,
The past two weekends have been much the same birding experience with strong NW winds, chilly temperatures and hunkered down birds. An average number of species seen for the time of year (35-40), but numbers of most species are low, especially those that do not frequent the feeder. Here are the highlights:

-Tundra Swan have been hanging out daily in the field at N. Oak Grove Rd and Kinder Rd (MD side) with 430 and 340 respectively, by date.
-Ring-billed Gulls that have been attracted to early season farming operations. On 2/26, approx 1000 collected in the field at Horseshoe Rd and N. Oak Grove, but I could find nothing else different. On 3/5, a similar flock collected in a small patch near the west end of Wild Turkey Rd. Among them was a single LAUGHING GULL, a new early date. But all were in DE, so I guess I cannot claim the LAGU award if, in fact, it is still up for grabs.
-1 Wilson's Snipe and 2 Mallards in a puddle (3/5 - MD)
-1 female Harrier seen on the south end of N. Oak Grove Rd (DE). Shelly has seen a male Harrier 4-5 times this winter (last 3/1), but inconinues to elude me.
-On the RR behind my farm (MD), a flock of 9 Towhees on 2/26 and 2 Fox Sparrow in the same area on 3/5.

Good Birding,
