Sorry for the delay in reporting this. On a bird walk sponsored by Black 
Hills Regional Park, about 12 of us visited the 10 Mile Creek Road area. 
Most noted was a beautiful male red-breasted merganser hanging out with 
several male and female common mergansers.

other water fowl seen were:
ring-necked ducks
black ducks
buffleheads
ruddy ducks
mallards

on Turkey Hill Loop we observed:
purple finches
red-bellied woodpeckers
field sparrows
white-throated sparrows
