Hello all.

The North County Land Trust, which helps in the care of the mitigated
wetland area of Swan Creek in Northern Anne Arundel County, is having an
open house on Saturday, March 25th, from 9:00-11:00 in the morning. A
guided bird tour will be offered from 9:30-10:30 and information will be
available about the various agencies that operate on the site (Maryland
Environmental Service, Maryland Port Administration, etc.)

The area contains 2 dredge spoil impoundments, a large wetland (part of
which has been restored with native plants) along with some nice wooded
areas.

This is a great opportunity to see an area that is restricted to the public
and, for our interest, an area with some great bird activity. I have posted
several times about the "Kembo Road" area, which is the entrance road into
this facility, and it is always a treat to get "past the gate" into these
areas. The facility is only open to the public for this open house.

Directions:

The facitilty if located off of the end of Kembo Road which is off of Fort
Smallwood Road, and can be found on AA County ADC Map number 4, coordiates
A-10.

From the Baltimore Beltway, take Exit 1 and turn left at the stoplight.
Turn Left again onto Ft. Smallwood Road
Proceed about 4 miles on Ft. Smallwood Road
A large Industrial Park will appear of your left (Marley Neck Industrial
Park)
Turn Left onto Kembo Road.
Proceed to the end of the road (due North).

If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to email me.

Best to all,

Matt Grey
