I got there late to the sight of the Townsend's Warbler and did not fing it.  However, at the spot of the white marker near the turf farm, I was surprised to watch a Gray Catbird come in and go drink water from the canal.  Shortly after, a very freshly plumaged Hermit Thrush did the same in the same area.

Like everyone else, I was mesmorized by the Amer. Woodcock display...best I'd ever seen (and in the best of weather conditions).  I had 5 separate birds in the air, performing their courtship display, with at least 3 others being heard nearby.

With the Great Horned Owl calling from the setting sun, the Bobwhite hollering from the trees at the edge of the field, Tundras from the south....beautiful!
