This evening I spotted hundreds of Tundra Swans on Loch Raven Reservoir
seen from the Dulaney Valley Rd. bridge (in other words, it would have
been difficult not to spot them). Quite a sight.

Birds of note from the bridge:
4 Pied-billed Grebe
813 Tundra Swan
40 Gadwall
25 American Wigeon
3 American Black Duck
8 Green-winged Teal
10 Ring-necked Duck
3 Common Merganser

in the vicinity of the skeet shoot area:
2 Barred Owl - calling
1 Belted Kingfisher
1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
1 Pileated Woodpecker
1 Pine Warbler - heard singing
4 Field Sparrow - one singing!

And as night fell with the full moon shining, hundreds of Spring Peepers
and a handful of Wood Frogs were singing among blooming Skunk Cabbage.
Nothing in the world like spring

Cheers,
Steve Collins
