I saw my first Indigo Bunting of the season today on Warburton
Road near North East, Maryland. A few minutes later I finally
saw my first osprey of the season--it was soaring over the
town and being harassed by a crow. It was funny to watch the osprey
soaring and the crow flapping like crazy to catch up to it.

When I got home from doing errands, there was a lovely male Bluebird
in the tree where they perch to keep an eye on the Bluebird box,
so maybe this year we'll have Bluebirds in there instead of Tree Swallows.
There's a Chipping Sparrow on the feeder as I type this. They started
coming to the feeder shortly after the Purple Finches disappeared.

Question: when Goldfinches molt, do they get molt their primaries first?
They are still a drab greenish color, but their wings look really clean and
high-contrast.
