I am told that Indigo Buntings are very rare in Cecil County
through April. The yellow book shows an early date of March 26 (which is only
two days from now)--if anyone from the area can get out to Warburton Road
today, it would be nice if you saw this bird and confirmed it.

I was driving and did not get to use the binoculars, but I can tell
you it was a dark, sparrow-sized bird, and the blue color was
nicely visible because the sun was peeking through a break
in the clouds. The bird flew off the wire as my car approached, so
I got a good but quick look at its back as it turned while flying past.

I was somewhere between the big pond where the goose is nesting and Route 272.
The bird was on the north side of the road there this morning, 9:30ish.
