Hello all.
After the Swan Creek survey, I noted an unusual (and exotic) visitor to my
neighborhood. It was the size and colour of a Common Raven, but had white
on the upper chest and what appeared to be a white collar. I got great
views of it as it perched on a light pole at the Royal Farms on Ft.
Smallwood Road. I am sure this is the same bird that has been reported
recently in the Venice on the Bay community, as I doubt there are others of
this speices hanging around in Pasadena!
It looks to be an escaped Pied Crow, which is an African Species sometimes
kept as a cage bird. I had looked for it several times after a local birder
reported it, but it seems the bird came to me, instead!
Best Regards,
Matt Grey
