Some years ago I saw a true albino Common Grackle. It was in a flock of
thousands that were flying across the road at an amazing speed, and they
were very close to the surface of the road. It was at Bombay Hook with my
late friend Harold Nelson. I'll never forget that bird.

One of the many "grackle guys" currently hanging out in my yard has a strip
of white edging on his feathers where the greenish-blue of the head meets
the purplish-brown of the back.

|A number of years ago I was doing the Sugar Loaf CBC and there was a huge
flock of grackles at the corner of Rt. 80 and Park Mills Rd (when it was a
farm, not a golf course!) -- Leo Weigant was doing the sector with me. We
saw the flock fly and saw a bird with white patches in both wings!
Yellow-headed Blackbird???!!! No -- alas -- just an aberrant grackle...
