I'm not from Washington County, but I am from the Washington County chapter
of MOS and I do bird there. Well, a little further upstream from milepost 70
to 73.
Here is a brief list of what I saw on the Potomac in that area of Washington
County on 3/21/06. I was driving on the WV side of the river, but the birds
were in Washington County, MD.
Canada Goose 8
Mallard 13
Common Merganser 8
Herring Gull 11 (Alas no GBBG)
Also saw a pair of Wood Duck, but they were in a WV waterway, very near but
not in the Potomac. Sorry to be late in reporting.
