Listened to a Louisiana Waterthrush chipping and singing along the
Kingsley trail at Little Bennett this morning around 11:15 AM -- I finally
caught a glimpse of him as he flew upstream. Later, a LOWA was singing
just downstream of the bridge by the schoolhouse. It's now officially
springtime for me! :)

Other birds included an Eastern phoebe, at least two Red-shouldered hawks,
Red-bellied/Hairy/Downy woodpeckers, and Field/Song/White-throated
sparrows and juncos.

I also watched a pair of White-breasted nuthatches possibly working on
their nest cavity -- they kept returning with either nesting material or
insects to the same spot on the far side of a tree (thus I couldn't get a
decent look at the cavity itself). Everything I've read says that the
female builds the nest, but as both the male and female frequently
returned to this spot, I wonder if they were "bill-sweeping" with insects.
