I took the afternoon to try once again for the gulls in Washington County, much more successful this time around.  I birded through Montgomery County on the way.  Here are the highlights:

Rough-winged Swallow - 2

Pine Warbler - 3
Red-breasted Nuthatch - 1

Common Moorhen - 1 early, calling from second impoundment on right, Yellow Books lists arrival date as March 25
Rusty Blackbird - 1, not associated with large grackle/red-wing flock
Blue-winged Teal - 2
Green-winged Teal - 1
Barred Owl - 2
Red-shouldered Hawk - 3
Tree Swallow - 25

Great Black-backed Gull - 12 (8 1st year, 2 2nd year, 2 adults)
