Hello, birders.

Some quick birding near the Visitor Center at Black
Hill Regional Park this afternoon produced 3 HORNED
GREBES on the lake - 1 in beautiful breeding plumage,
1 almost in full breeding plumage and 1 in transition
from winter to breeding. I watched them bathe and
dive, sometimes from as close as 40 feet or so. 1
male GADWALL flew by and 2 dapper COMMON LOONS were
present, too.

A pair of PURPLE FINCHES hung out at the feeders and I
heard another nearby.
