Thanks to a phone call from JB relaying a message from Ray, I was able to
see a Great Egret at the terminus in Cumberland this morning. The bird
has been there since Sunday according to a report on the Garrett County
Yahoo group. It should have been a county close-out, but unfortunately I
have managed to miss this bird in Calvert County.

Also at the terminus -- 1 Great Blue Heron, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers,
many Tree Swallows, at least 1 Northern Rough-winged Swallow in the mix, 4
Herring Gulls, 8 Ring-billed Gulls, and 1 Greater Yellowlegs.

A quick stop at Big Pool on the way back produced 3 Blue-winged Teal, 2
Northern Shovelers, and 2 Greater Yellowlegs.
