Hi all,

I wanted to let people know about the next program of
the Prince George's Audubon Society and the Patuxent
Bird Club (MOS). It's coming up this week, on
Tuesday, April 11, at the College Park Airport Annex,
at 7:30 p.m. The program is, as always, free, and
open to the public. Light refreshments will be
provided.

Don Messersmith is well-known among his peers as one
of the country's leading entomologists, but perhaps
better known in the birding community as one of the
area's top birders, the teacher of a popular course in
ornithology (taken by many of our members), and
especially as a pioneering leader of birding tours to
exotic locales such as Antarctica, Venezuela, and
Manchuria. He brings to his talks a professional
biologist's broad overview of the fauna of a region,
in which birds are
an integral part. He comes to our April meeting with a
lavishly illustrated presentation on a recent birding
foray to Brazil. Join us for a survey of this huge but
so-far under-birded country.

See our website for directions to the meeting
location, as well as information about upcoming field
trips.

Hope to see you there!
Lynette Fullerton
