Greetings. This morning after I dropped off trash at the Brown Station
Landfill, I looked at a stormwater pond where I heard a lot of yellowlegs
calling. There were about 15 lesser and 12 greaters, as well as 11
pectorals and a single semi-palmated sandpiper. I thought Leasts usually
arrive before semi-ps, but regardless, since I have not seen any peeps yet-
any are a nice surprise. There were only a few waterfowl present; a
single BW teal, 4 GW teal, 2 mallards, 4 wood ducks and 6 Canada Geese.
There were also 3 great blue herons and 2 green herons.

There was also a large flock of myrtle warblers gleaning in the tops of
several adjacent large trees; I tried to count but found it nearly
impossible due to their constant movement. Many were singing also; the
flock was pretty noisy! I estimate there were about 50-60 birds. I
looked for about 3-4 minutes before the flock moved on, but was only able
to find one other species with them, a pine warbler. Hard to say if it
was actually with them but it was in the same tree briefly! Nearby I
heard 3 separate parulas, and 2 yellowthroats singing. I guess there were
also about 10-15 gnatcatchers in the vicinity, they seemed to be all
over. The big flock of myrtles really woke me up!

Looking forward to the weekend-
