I'm glad that I am finally getting to use my computer.
Saturday morning at around 7:50, just before I was leaving to go to work, I looked out my window, thinking that all I'd see would be the dozens of Starlings that are always around. I was really surprised to see a Sharp-shinned Hawk, my years first one, on the pavement on top of the 'corpse' of a Starling it had just killed and was ripping up.
I didn't want to leave right now and disturb the hawk eating breakfast so I picked up one of my binoculars and watched it for a little while as it 'dug' into the Starling and saw some of the dead bird's feathers fly away in the breeze. A neighbor came along walking her dog and the Sharp-shinned picked up it's 'breakfast' and flew away with it.
'Now I can leave and get to work."
