I went mountain biking today on the orange trail at Cedarville State
Park (it's turkey hunting season, so it's not yet safe to go on the blue
trail except Sundays) and saw and heard an incredible number of
warblers. Three times I got extremely close (naked eye) views of
Ovenbirds. I also had what *would* have been terrific views of a tiny,
possibly grey warbler and a group of three brown somethingorothers, but
since I don't ride with my binoculars (I crash too often), I cannot say
for certain what they were other than that they were *absolutely*
avifauna. ;D

Prodigious numbers of singing warblers as well. I definitely identified
the songs of the Common Yellowthroat and the Cerulean Warbler, and I
think I may have also heard the American Redstart and Prairie Warblers
singing, but I won't swear to it. At one point a Redtailed Hawk called
repeatedly, and it was clearly a Redtail and not a Jay or other mimic.
I know this not only because all the small brown somethingorothers fled
for cover, but also because it sounded *exactly* like the call they
always use on television when showing a Bald Eagle. ;D

Also plentiful views of Cardinals, turkey vultures, Tiger Swallowtail
butterflies and whitetailed deer.

Finally, if anyone finds any blood on the trail, it's mine.
