Around the lake this morning there were late 3 Ringnecks - 2 females and a
male - on the lake. Nicely vocalizing LA Waterthrush and my first Northern
Parula.
    On the way back I heard a song in front of me and found what appeared to
be a female Purple Finch and it tipped its head back and sang for me. It
sounded like a Purple Finch.
    Anybody familiar with this? Do female PUFI's sing during their trip back
north? I was a bit surprised at the behavior but then I'm surprised by most
everything. Even my own shadow.

    Yesterday we had our second Osprey go through. The first was on April 1.
During April we get about a dozen on average.
