Folks

Early this morning (4 AM) my cat, Nuisance, woke me to feed her. Why do you think she is called Nuisance? I put her in the garage instead of feeding her. She will never learn.

On returning to bedroom, I decided to step out on the deck. I immediately heard at least three Whip-poor-wills singing southwest of the house. This entire area is being raped by the developers, and few large forest stands will remain when they finish. Hopefully, some of last nights birds will be able to nest one more year. When the Whips can't nest here, I move.

Also, last night around 8 PM I got a call from Lauren Fyfe. She called to tell me she had a Whip-poor-will singing near her house in Fairfax, Va. For her surely a migrant.

Other house year birds were Blue-headed Vireo, Northern Parula, and Barn Swallow. Gwen heard a Black & White Warbler but w/ the bulldozer nose I could not pick up on it.

Happy spring and enjoy the pollen.

George
