Highlight today was a singing and very visible WORM-EATING
WARBLER on the Paint Branch Stream Valley Park path (this is
a "path bird" for me). Also lots of first-of-year migrants
for me (for the path, although the sandpipers and both
orioles are also year birds). Full report below!

Finally a chance to bird the path. Mostly cloudy, cool, with
a light to moderate breeze. Top bird was Worm-eating
Warbler, heard first then clearly seen in the forested area
by the stream near the university. Other year birds for the
path: Solitary Sandpiper (various locations), White-eyed
Vireo (just beyond the southern edge of the forest at the
north end of the trail), Red-eyed Vireo (various), Northern
Parula (various), and both orioles (both singing, midway
along the path---the Orchard Oriole was an immature male).
