New Arrivals and others In Queen Annes County 4 - 29

Today  as I had to  to go into work for about 1 hour this morning  at the 
Wye Research Center near Queenstown   afterwards I decided to bird the area 
as well as Wye Island  . I  came across George Radcliffe  and some of his 
Centreville Middle School  birdiers  at the Wye island  bridge  . We were 
talking about  Least  Terns being due in the area when 2 of them flew by in 
the distance as if on cue  . Some highlights

Mallard        1 male
Lesser Scaup     2   of which 1 was   male and 1  female  Wye Island  Bridge
Snowy Egret   2  wye Island Bridge  my year first
Great Blue Heron     1
Green Heron    2  at  a pond at  Wye Research Center     years first
Greater Yellowleggs      1  Wye Island
Lesser Yellowleggs        1 Wye Island
Osprey   at least  8
Bald Eagle       1 immature
Red Tailed Hawk   1
Turkey   Vultrue     10
Foresters Tern      1      Wye Island  Bridge

Red Bellied  Woodpecker   1

Cedar Waxwing    20      appeared to be eating flower buds from wild cherrys
