The first female Orchard Oriole of the year is now in the yard. Now
the "boys" have someone to chase other than each other.
I had a male Orchard Oriole knock himself silly against a window
yesterday. I picked him up and held him for 5 minutes or so until he
revived. I was sitting with him outside and let him sit on my stomache.
He hopped up to my shoulder and sat there for 5 minutes or so. While
sitting there, the other Orchard Orioles in the yard were singing. The
one on my shoulder tried a couple of times to respond but he just made a
few pitiful squeaks. Then my wife came out and scared him off.
