Hi Everyone,

Matt Hafner and I birded Anne Arundel and Prince Georges Counties today. Starting at Wootens Landing, but mainly birded the Jug Bay area and Merkle. Jeff Shenot joined us in the Jug Bay area and guided us to several excellent spots. Highlights of the day were nineteen species of warbler for Matt, eighteen species for me..

Wootens Landing - Prothonotary, Common Yellowthroat, Northern Waterthrush, Yellow, Pine, Palm, Parula, Blue-winged, Prairie (Matt only), Redstart (Matt only), Myrtle, Chat as well as both orioles, Purple Finch and a flyover Cattle Egret.

Jug Bay (AA Side) - Both Tanagers, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, both orioles, Blue Grosbeak and Yellow-throated, red and white eyed vireos. Additional warblers seen were Black and White, Yellow-throated, Hooded, BTG (Matt and Jeff only), Louisiana Waterthrush, Blackpoll and Ovenbird.

PG side of Jug Bay and Merkle - Prothonotary, Yellowthroat, Pine, Redstart, Ovenbird, Yellow-throated, Parula, Chat, Hooded, Black and White and Yellow. In the fields at Selby Landing we had a flock of approximately twenty Pipits and Matt saw a Horned Lark.

Great day to be out.

Dave
