And as a follow up to the Wood Thrush, I got bored with it and went down
around the lake for a walk. Spotted what appeared to be a baby with some
Canada geese. Turned out to be a PIED-BILLED GREBE. Also got a nice look at
a GREEN HERON.
However the highlight of the trip was a brief look at a NASHVILLE
WARBLER after I was sucked in by its song. It perched for a moment in a
fruit tree, sang again and soon disappeared.
The ACADIAN FLYCATCHER is singing down along the creek and I also got a
decent look at an ORCHARD ORIOLE.
It would be nice if the Nashville would hang around until count day.
