This was a very slow day for May. Still, there were some highlights
along my lunchtime walk around the Lincoln Monument:

   Constitution Gardens
Brown Thrasher
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Chestnut-sided Warbler (heard only)

   DC Veteran's Memorial
Great Crested Flycatcher (making every different sound I've ever heard
one
          make)
Black-and-white Warbler
Swainson's Thrush
Willow Flycatcher - a first for my Mall list! Calling and everything.
When I start hearing Empidonax flycatchers calling during migration, it
usually appears that there is more than one of the species in the area.
Perhaps they are getting a little territorial. In any event, I stalked
one, but kept hearing another further off every once in a while.
