With the recent posts about suet feeders attracting different species and
Pileated WPs coming to feeders, etc., I counted up the number of different
species that have been at my feeders over the years. (A Pileated came to the
feeders last week for the first time.) There are 16 feeders in the yard which
currently include 4 thistle, 4 suet, 3 sunflower, 3 peanut, 1 hummingbird, and
1 platform (millet, safflower, sunflower). There have been a total of 40
species including birds that eat the seed on the ground under the feeders (e.g.
did count Fox Sparrow but didn't count Robin). I also didn't count birds
eating other birds on the feeder (e.g. Cooper's Hawk).

The list includes:

Titmouse
Car Chickadee
No Cardinal
Blue Jay
Gr Catbird
Con Grackle
Red-winged Blackbird
BH Cowbird
Am Crow
Eu Starling
House Finch
House Sparrow
Am Goldfinch
Pine Siskin
Common Redpoll
Evening Grosbeak
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Ruby-throated HB
Indigo Bunting
Red-bellied WP
Downy WP
Hairy WP
YB Sapsucker
Pileated WP
Brown Thrasher
No Mockingbird
Pine Warbler
WB Nuthatch
RB Nuthatch
Mourning Dove
Purple Finch
White-throated Sp
Song Sp
Chipping Sp
Car Wren
Junco
Ea Towhee
Fox Sp
American Tree Sp
White-crowened Sp

I am curious to see how many species others have had and what unusual
species have been seen..
